Battle of the Birthdays

Every day is somebody’s birthday – even in the world of music. So every day John Fisher picks three artists who are celebrating birthdays, and you vote on which one should kick off the Attitude Adjustment Hour at 5:00pm. It may not be an artist you’re used to hearing on the radio, but who cares? Whoever gets the most votes wins! No superdelegates, no electoral college. Vote now and hear the results at 5:00pm when John fires up 60 minutes of Mountain music on the Attitude Adjustment Hour!

PETE TOWNSHEND
Guitarist, songwriter, singer in one of the greatest live bands ever -- oh, let's just say it:  flat out one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever, The Who.   Also a writer, philosopher, curmudgeon, and deep thinker.  His windmill style of playing guitar is a signature, and he smashed more than a few perfectly good guitars in his day.  Pete turns 63 today. (VOTE BELOW)
ZZ TOP
The li’l ol’ band from Texas has kept the same lineup for almost 40 years, including today’s birthday boy, bassist Dusty Hill, who turns 59. In 1984, the Gillette reportedly offered Hil and bandmate Billy Gibbons each  a million dollars to shave their beards for a TV commercial but they turned it down, saying, "We're too ugly without 'em.” (VOTE BELOW)
THE RAMONES
Often considered the first punk band, The Ramones toured nearly nonstop for 22 years after forming in the mid-70s in Queens, New York.  Singer and songwriter Joey Ramone (real name:  Jeffry Ross Hyman) was 6’ 8” tall, was one of only two Ramones who were with the band for their entire existence, and he died of lymphoma in 2001.  He would be 57 today.
