Number of years spanned in the Red Hot Chili Peppers video to Dani California. It starts out in a '50s early Rock setting, with Anthony Kiedis dressed as Elvis Presley. It then moves on to a stereotypical British Rock band that you would see on The Ed Sullivan Show in the '60s. They move on to a stereotypical Psychadelic Rock band, then the Funk era. The band is dressed as Parliamant/Funkadelic. It moves on to a stereotypical Glam Rock band, then Gothic band. Then it moves on to the Punk movement, Hair Metal, and Grunge. The Grunge band is one of the more clear bands to identify, as Kiedis is dressed like his friend Kurt Cobain. It ends with the Peppers as a sum up of all of these bands.

"American Skin (41 Shots)" is a song written by Bruce Springsteen, inspired by the police shooting death of Amadou Diallo. Diallo was killed when police officers approached him and identified themselves as NYPD officers. Diallo ran towards his apartment house doorway at their approach, ignoring their orders to stop and "show his hands." As the suspect reached into his jacket, the officers fired forty-one shots, hitting Diallo nineteen times. Investigation found the item he had pulled out of his jacket was a wallet. Springsteen addresses these moments in his song at 2 minutes 54 seconds into the song. Though at times the song appears to be critical of the police, the song is an even-handed attempt to explain the tensions between police and minorities.

Number of hours it took to record the entire debut album by Elvis Costello, “My Aim Is True.” He did not have a backing band at the time, so Nick Lowe, who produced the album, brought in a group called Clover. Huey Lewis was in the band, but didn't participate in the sessions because they didn't need a harmonica player. Elvis was at that time Dec McManus - his real name. He was a mild-mannered, meek little songwriter who would hang out around Stiff Records and tell the lead singer of Clover, Alex Call, 'Man, I wish I could sing like you.' 35 hours later, one of the true classic albums was in the can and Declan McManus was about to become Elvis Costello.
